01 Acceptance of terms
By using Do It Anyway, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
02 What Do It Anyway is
Do It Anyway is an accountability tool for procrastination-prone tasks — it helps you name what you're avoiding, see that others are avoiding it too, and get quiet acknowledgment when you finish. It is not medical, psychological, financial, or professional advice of any kind, and it isn't a substitute for professional help if you're struggling with something serious.
03 Accounts
You can use the app as an anonymous guest, or sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. One person, one account — don't create multiple accounts to get around limits (like the guest one-active-item limit) or to inflate your own Respect.
04 Acceptable use
Don't use Do It Anyway to:
Post proof, notes, or activity names that are illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that identify another person without their consent.
Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
Abuse the Respect system (e.g., coordinating fake respect, or attempting to respect your own proof).
Send abusive, spam, or automated bulk traffic to Buddy or any other backend feature.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app or its backend services.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section.
05 Content you post
You keep ownership of the proof photos, notes, and activity names you create. By posting something as public, you give other users permission to see it and give it Respect, exactly as the app is designed to do — that's the only license we need from you. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to post whatever you post.
An activity you create joins the shared global catalog, even if you keep your own participation in it private — that's what lets other people's free text match to it later.
06 Respect
Respect is a single anonymous acknowledgment another user can give your proof. It has no monetary value, can't be exchanged or redeemed, and isn't a rating, ranking, or endorsement of anything beyond "someone saw this and acknowledged it."
07 Buddy & AI features
Buddy uses AI (Google's Vertex AI / Gemini models) to understand what you type and match or create activities. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or oddly phrased — treat its replies as a best-effort assistant, not an authority. Don't send Buddy sensitive personal information (health details, financial account numbers, government IDs, etc.) beyond what's naturally implied by the task you're avoiding.
08 Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate Section 4, or to protect the service or other users.
09 Disclaimers
Do It Anyway is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Buddy's matching will always be accurate. Global counts, trending activities, and other live statistics are provided for motivation and context, not as verified data.
10 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Do It Anyway and its developer aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on Buddy's suggestions or on any content posted by other users.
11 Changes
We may update the app and these terms over time. If a change is material, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
12 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
